New Delhi - Kia India Private Limited, an automobile manufacturer, has unveiled the MY26 Carens Clavis EV with a new 6-seater layout featuring second-row captain seats, alongside the existing 7-seater version. The updated range also brings additional trims and refreshed design pack options, further strengthening Kia’s first made-in-India EV to better match changing customer preferences.

As India’s EV market evolves, buyers are seeking more than just range and efficiency, with increasing demand for comfort, distinctive design and everyday usability. In response, Kia India has expanded the Carens Clavis EV range by adding GT-Line and X-Line trims to the Extended Range variant, available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations, giving the electric MPV a stronger SUV-inspired look and broader appeal.

The new GT-Line trims, GTX and GTX+, add a sportier touch with unique alloy wheels, lime brake calipers and metal pedals. The X-Line Extended Range variant takes on a bolder and more rugged appearance with an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior finish and Aurora Black Pearl accents. Advanced features such as Digital Key and battery heater technology are available in the GTX+ and X-Line variants. Standard Range versions also receive newly designed 16-inch Black High Gloss Aero Alloy Wheels.

Kia has also introduced a new 6-seater layout with second-row captain seats on selected trims, including HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+ and X-Line. Developed in response to customer feedback, this configuration offers added comfort, more personal space and a more premium travel experience. The existing 7-seater setup remains available on GTX, GTX+ and X-Line trims, providing flexibility for larger families and group use.

Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “The Carens Clavis EV was developed to make electric mobility practical and relevant for everyday use. As more customers transition to EVs, their expectations are evolving beyond technology to include greater comfort, flexible seating and distinctive design. The MY26 reflects this feedback with new trims and a 6-seater configuration that enhances comfort and versatility while retaining the practicality Indian customers value.”

Designed to meet changing mobility demands, the Carens Clavis EV blends spaciousness, flexible 6- and 7-seater layouts, and electric performance, making it a strong option for customers looking for a practical family EV. It is powered by 99 kW and 126 kW motor choices that produce 255 Nm of torque, delivering smooth driving for both daily use and long-distance travel. The model comes with two battery options 51.4 kWh with a claimed range of 490 km and 42 kWh with a claimed range of 404 km and supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.

Safety continues to be a key focus, with 18 advanced safety features including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist Control and more. Inside, the cabin offers a premium and connected experience with a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, more than 85 connected car features, user-friendly controls and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Kia India has also strengthened the ownership experience through its EV ecosystem. Via the K-Charge platform on the MyKia app, customers can access more than 15,000 charging points across the country, along with route planning that shows live charger availability and simplified payment options. In addition, over 100 Kia dealerships are equipped with DC fast chargers, supported by more than 267 EV-ready workshops nationwide.

The Carens Clavis EV is offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations and is available in seven colour choices: Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Ivory Silver Matte and the new Dark Gun Metal.
