Seoul, South Korea - Kia Corporation, an automobile manufacturer, has launched the 2027 EV4 GT in Canada, featuring 288 hp, dual-motor AWD, sporty upgrades, and up to 431 km of estimated range.
The Kia EV4 is an all-electric sedan and hatchback that many buyers in the US would like to see, but its American launch remains on hold. Kia announced nearly a year ago that the EV4 would be delayed in the US indefinitely, and no further update has been provided since then.
Canadian customers, however, already have access to the model. Kia launched the standard EV4 in Canada in late 2025, positioning it as one of the country’s most affordable electric vehicles. With a starting price of CA$38,995, the EV4 even undercuts the Fiat 500e, which starts at CA$39,995.
Kia has now expanded the lineup with the new EV4 GT, bringing sportier styling, additional standard equipment and stronger performance compared with the regular version.
Like other Kia GT models, the EV4 GT receives several exclusive design elements, including neon-accented brake calipers, 20-inch alloy wheels, suede and synthetic-leather seats, a GT-themed digital instrument cluster and a dedicated GT button on the steering wheel. It also adds a trim-exclusive head-up display that projects speed, navigation directions and other important driving information onto the windshield.
The EV4 GT is powered by an 81.4 kWh battery and offers a Kia-estimated driving range of up to 431 km, or around 267 miles. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces a combined 288 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque.
By comparison, the standard front-wheel-drive EV4 uses a single electric motor producing 201 hp and 209 lb-ft of torque. The regular EV4 lineup is offered in five trims: Light FWD Standard Range, Wind FWD Long Range, Wind Premium FWD Long Range, GT-Line FWD Long Range and GT-Line Limited FWD Long Range.
The 2027 Kia EV4 GT is now available for factory order through certified Kia dealerships in Canada. Pricing starts at CA$58,595, while the reported all-in price, including freight, environmental charges and other applicable fees, is CA$61,344.
Although the EV4 and EV4 GT remain unavailable in the US for the foreseeable future, Kia has introduced the smaller EV3 to strengthen its affordable electric vehicle offering. The 2027 Kia EV3 starts at $29,890 in the US, making it one of the country’s more affordable EVs. In Canada, Kia also positions the EV3 as its lowest-priced electric vehicle.
