India - Kinetic has revived its iconic DX nameplate as an all-electric scooter via its EV arm, Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd. The base DX variant is priced at ₹1.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), while the premium DX+ starts at ₹1.17 lakh (~$1,410 USD). The company is accepting bookings online for ₹1,000, with deliveries set to begin in September 2025, limited to 35,000 units initially
Built on a durable metal body with a flat floorboard and 37-litre under-seat storage, the DX combines retro-inspired design cues with modern EV technology. It draws power from a 2.6 kWh LFP battery delivering a certified 116 km range (IDC) and features a 4.8 kW hub motor capable of 90 km/h top speed. The DX+ variant with Cruise Lock mode can stretch up to 150 km through optimized 25–30 km/h riding.
Key features include three ride modes (Range, Power, Turbo), cruise control, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, and comb-braking system with a 220 mm front disc. An 8.8-inch digital cluster with Bluetooth, voice navigation, built-in speaker, and the optional Telekinetics suite (on DX+) enable geo-fencing, vehicle tracking, OTA updates, and even a multi-language voice assistant called "My Kiney Companion"
The scooter’s design balances nostalgia and purpose—Italian-influenced styling with an illuminated visor, red “READY” starter button homage to the original DX, LED DRLs, and a refined metal chassis. The DX+ is available in five exclusive color options, while the base DX comes in Silver and Black only.
Bookings are open via the official Kinetic EV portal. The DX comes with a 3‑year / 30,000 km warranty, extendable up to 9 years or 1 lakh km, reinforcing Kinetic’s confidence in the scooter’s build quality and longevity.
