Chicago, Illinois - Komatsu Ltd., a heavy equipment manufacturer, has launched the new PC365LC-11 multifunction plus excavator in North America, featuring a refreshed exterior, enhanced operator cab, and advanced standard and optional features tailored for the construction market.
The PC365LC-11 is the only excavator in its class with an electric swing system and “boom-up” power assist. The dedicated electric swing motor improves swing speed and operational efficiency, cutting cycle times and boosting productivity by up to 15%. An ultracapacitor stores an extra 70 horsepower, providing instant power to the work equipment even when the engine is in ultra-low idle. Ultra-low idle operation reduces fuel consumption by up to 20% and extends runtime.
All energy is generated during normal operation, with no external charging required. With swing operations no longer using hydraulic power, more hydraulic capacity is available for the boom, arm, and bucket, improving digging cycles and reducing lag.
The PC365LC-11 also introduces enhancements in operator comfort, technology, and attachment versatility. A premium heated air-suspension seat with high leather back and improved cushioning, along with new proportional joysticks, reduces fatigue and wrist stress. The KomVision camera system provides a bird’s-eye view for improved situational awareness, and an optional Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance kit allows access to 3D design and topography data.
For attachments, the standard tool control system allows operators to configure and store flow rates and pressures for multiple tools, with settings displayed on the in-cab monitor. Optional hydraulic quick coupler piping supports fast attachment changes.
Komatsu offers a 7-year/15,000-hour transferable warranty on the machine’s electric powertrain components.
