Tokyo, Japan - Komatsu Ltd., a construction and mining equipment manufacturer, has signed a significant agreement with Barrick Mining Corporation., a gold and copper producer, to supply primary mining equipment to the Reko Diq copper-gold project in Pakistan. The deal, valued at $440 million over the first five years, marks Komatsu's first major equipment placement in the Middle East territory.

Komatsu 980E-5 ultra-class haul trucks: Designed for high efficiency and longevity in demanding conditions, these trucks will be manufactured and exported from Peoria, Illinois.

P&H 4100XPC AC electric rope shovels: Providing electric-powered material movement with high dig forces and payload capacity, these shovels will be manufactured and exported from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Komatsu PC7000-11 mining excavators: Delivering precision, productivity, and advanced intelligent data solutions for optimized performance, these excavators will be manufactured and exported from Dusseldorf, Germany.

Komatsu WE2350-2 electric wheel loaders: Designed for high-volume material movement and fast cycle times, these wheel loaders will be manufactured and exported from Longview, Texas.

To support the Reko Diq project, Komatsu will establish a new entity, KOMATSU PAKISTAN MINING (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED., dedicated to providing service and technical expertise. Additional investments will be made to Komatsu Middle East FZE, the regional headquarters in Dubai, UAE.

This partnership underscores the strengthening relationship between Barrick and Komatsu, following successful collaborations at other projects worldwide. The Reko Diq project is one of the world's most significant greenfield mining developments, and Komatsu's equipment will play a crucial role in its success.
