Spelle, Germany - Bernard KRONE Holding SE & Co. KG., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has officially opened a cutting-edge parts warehouse in Spelle, Germany, designed around its innovative Efficiency Transport (ET) warehouse strategy. This major investment marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to streamline logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring rapid material flow and optimized information management.

The sprawling 72,000 m² facility holds an impressive inventory of over 65,000 different spare parts, highlighting Krone’s unwavering focus on fast, reliable service. This is particularly crucial in the agricultural sector, where the rapid availability of parts is essential to keep high-performance, capital-intensive machines operational during short harvest windows.

Mr. Bernard Krone, Founder of Krone, said, “With Krone Parts we are investing 45 million euro in future-proof warehouse and logistics technologies while underscoring our clear commitment to the Spelle location. This means Krone is equipped to face the skilled labour shortage and stand behind our highest standards of service and efficiency.”

Mr. Heiner Bruning, Managing Director of Service & Parts, said, “Krone Parts enables even faster resupply of parts and optimizes our inventories, leading to a significant improvement in the supply chain. With Krone Parts we are further reinforcing our position as provider with absolute service excellence.”

The High-Bay Storage System, spanning 3,588 m² and reaching 25 meters in height, is the warehouse's core. It features high-speed rack storage devices and ten autonomous transport units, ensuring efficient material handling. The AutoStore system for small parts holds 51,000 containers across 1,320 m², with 15 robots handling 72% of dispatches. Additionally, a 8,652 m² cold hall stores large parts, complemented by 7,865 m² for goods and 6,000 m² of outdoor storage.

Krone's new warehouse is a model of sustainability and efficiency, meeting the KfW 40 energy standard and featuring an 8,000 m² solar panel array. With the capacity to handle 2,100 lorry loads, it spans a distance of 55 kilometers when lined up. This significant investment in automation and logistics sets new standards for agricultural machinery service, reflecting Krone’s commitment to speed, service, and sustainability for the future.
