Werlte, Germany- Krone Trailer (Fahrzeugwerk Bernard KRONE GmbH & Co. KG) has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Opex Logistics as the Bristol-based transport operator continues to invest in a diverse trailer fleet to support specialist freight operations across the UK and Europe.
Opex Logistics has added a range of KRONE trailers to its fleet, including Profi Liner HD flatbeds, FS10 skeletal container carriers and Profi Liner curtainsiders. The investment supports the company’s fleet development, replacement and expansion strategy, helping it handle a wide variety of freight requirements.
The operator has worked with KRONE Trailer UK for nearly eight years, building a strong supplier relationship based on trailer reliability, versatility and aftersales support. Opex serves sectors including aerospace, engineering and other high-value industries, where loads are often non-standard, time-critical and operationally demanding.
KRONE initially supplied Profi Liner curtainsiders to Opex, but the partnership has since expanded to include a broader mix of trailer types. Recent deliveries include three FS10 skeletal trailers, several Profi Liner HD flatbeds and more than 30 Profi Liner curtainsiders, giving Opex greater flexibility across container transport, palletised freight, abnormal cargo and general haulage.
The KRONE FS10 skeletal trailers provide a flexible solution for container operations, with extendable chassis configurations designed to accommodate different container lengths. This supports efficient movement of varied containerised freight while maintaining strength and stability during demanding transport work.
The Profi Liner curtainsiders offer strong load security and day-to-day versatility. They are equipped with KRONE’s Multi Lock side rave system, which provides strapping points at 10 cm intervals along the trailer bed, allowing operators to secure different types of loads safely and efficiently.
KRONE’s Profi Liner HD flatbed trailers also remain an important part of Opex Logistics’ operation. Built for heavy-duty and general haulage applications, the flatbeds feature reinforced chassis construction and high-capacity axle configurations to support UK maximum-weight operations while allowing flexible load arrangements.
“We first introduced KRONE trailers into the fleet nearly eight years ago,” said Opex Director Peter Scrivin. “They have performed consistently over that time. They are reliable, versatile trailers and well suited to the varied and demanding work we undertake.”
He added that Opex’s ability to expand with different trailer types, from flatbeds to curtainsiders and container carriers, has been important in meeting customer needs. Strong support from KRONE Trailer UK, both during purchase and in service, has also played a key role in continued investment decisions.
