KUHN Farm Machinery updates Espro trailed drills with a new platform, straight disc option, and lighter 6m model.
Date: March 6, 2025
Saverne, France - KUHN SAS., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has upgraded Espro trailed drills with a redesigned operator platform, a new straight disc option, and a lighter 6m model.
The updates focus on the 3-6m range, including the 3002 (3m), 4002 (4m) fixed, and 4002 R and 6002 R (6m) folding models, replacing the 3000, 4000, and 6000 drills.
The redesigned mid-height platform improves hopper access and operator safety, spanning the full length and automatically folding in transport mode. This prevents overreaching, enhances hopper visibility, and simplifies bag splitting.
A half-open mode allows one side to stay in work position while the other folds for better loader access during filling. Additionally, the new hopper cover includes an automatic winding and locking system for added convenience.
A straight disc option, designed for minimal soil disturbance, can replace the standard 460mm concave notched discs. It moves soil only in a narrow band, reducing power requirements and preserving moisture. Additionally, the Espro 6m 6002 R is 700kg lighter than the outgoing Espro 6000, helping to lower soil compaction and fuel consumption while making the high-output drill easier to pull.
Mr. Edd Fanshawe, Arable specialist at KUHN, said, “The Espro is growing in popularity and has many features to improve seed placement and consistency in tricky conditions. Wheel design and layout, headland turn customisation, and Vistaflow valves, are all qualities that highlight how versatile and accurate the drill is. The new series of Espro is safer, lighter and more compatible with different establishment systems. It offers agronomic benefits, with accurate seed placement and even soil consolidation, alongside operational ease through easy filling and setup.”
