Klepp, Norway - Kverneland Group Benelux B.V., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, introduced the Saterra model range, a new generation of pneumatic cultivator-mounted seed drills. The Saterra offers farmers a cost-effective and straightforward solution for their seed drill needs.

The new Kverneland Saterra offers a highly efficient solution by combining seedbed preparation, consolidation, and precise seed placement into a single pass. This innovative design helps to reduce time pressure during the busy autumn and spring seasons, making it an ideal tool for farmers looking to streamline their operations.

The Kverneland Saterra, available in working widths of 3m and 4m, is set to enhance Kverneland's lineup of cultivator-mounted seed drills. This new model will replace the well-known DA and S-drill, offering improved efficiency and precision in seeding operations.

Mr. Sebastian Koers, Product Manager Seeding Technology at Kverneland, said, “The Saterra is fitted with the well-known CX-II coulters for precise seed placement. Due to the special shape of the disc and a coulter pressure of up to 50kg, the CX-II coulters ensure optimum soil penetration at an even sowing depth with little soil disturbance. As a cost-effective alternative, the CX-II coulter is now also available without press wheel. The special curved disc design provides sufficient bearing capacity in light conditions, thus saving weight.”

The Kverneland Saterra’s universal coupling triangle allows easy mounting on Kverneland power harrows and other soil tools. Its compact design and optimal hopper placement enable operation by smaller tractors. The sowing distance is easily adjustable, and flexible coulter brackets allow quick changes to row spacings. The machine comes with pre-set row distances of 12.5cm or 25cm from the factory.

The Saterra has a hopper capacity of 750 or 1,000 liters, with a tarpaulin cover to protect seeds and the distribution head from dust and humidity. It can be easily filled using a front loader, big bags, or auger. The mechanical metering device offers seed rates from 2 to 380 kg/ha. The coulter bar can be lifted for more intensive soil preparation, especially on headlands, without removing the seeder. A variety of options, including pre-emergence markers and following harrows, are available to customize the Saterra.
