Alpen, Germany – LEMKEN GmbH & Co. KG., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced the Saphir XMR mechanical seed drill, replacing the Saphir 10 with improved metering accuracy, easier adjustment and modern electronic control.
The Saphir XMR features a new metering system for both fine and large seeds, with tool-free removable metering wheels for faster seed changes, cleaning and maintenance. A double-sided electric drive with half-width section control is standard, helping reduce overlap and seed use on headlands and irregular fields.
The drill uses LEMKEN’s parallelogram-guided double disc coulter with pressure roller for consistent seed placement, soil contact and depth control at higher working speeds. Coulter pressure can be set up to 45 kg, with 12.5 cm or 15 cm row spacing options.
Tank capacities include 900, 1,200 and 1,500 litres, while an optional 200-litre MultiHub auxiliary tank can be added for microgranules or catch crops. The drill can be combined with Zirkon EMR and Zirkon XMR power harrows, supported by a new 600-series roller for improved reconsolidation and lower rolling resistance.
With ISOBUS-based iQblue drill support, patented tramline control and a semi-mounted design for better weight distribution during transport, the Saphir XMR is designed for farms seeking a simple mechanical drill with higher output, flexible setup and precision-focused operation.
