Misrata, Libya – Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba inaugurated the 6th African Construction and Equipment Exhibition at the Misrata International Fairgrounds. The event, held from May 2 to 5, brought together local and international companies from the construction, contracting and equipment sectors.
The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Misrata Chamber of Commerce and the Sfax Chamber of Commerce. It aims to strengthen economic partnerships and expand cooperation in Libya’s building and construction industry.
This year’s event features more than 70 Libyan companies, over 25 Tunisian companies, and participants from Syria, the UAE, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Ghana and China. The strong international presence highlights growing interest in Libya’s construction and reconstruction market.
During the opening, Aldabaiba said the construction sector remains an important driver of development, reconstruction and national economic growth. He later toured the exhibition pavilions and reviewed new technologies, infrastructure solutions, finishing materials and business opportunities presented by participating companies.
Mr. Abubakr Shanab, Director General of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, said, “The exhibition is a strategic platform for connecting Libyan companies with international partners, supporting investment, and encouraging knowledge transfer in the construction sector.”
The exhibition also includes an economic forum and B2B meetings designed to promote partnerships and exchange expertise among participating companies.
