Colmar, France – Liebherr International AG., and its official Bulgarian supplier Alki-L have delivered a new R 9350 E electric mining excavator to Assarel-Medet at the Assarel copper mine in Bulgaria’s Pazardzhik province.
The handover took place on 24 March, marking the fifth Liebherr 300-tonne class electric excavator to join Assarel-Medet’s mining fleet. The machine was delivered in face shovel configuration and is fitted with a customised 17 m³ bucket to support high productivity in copper mining operations.
Assarel-Medet selected the R 9350 E for its zero-emission operation, strong productivity, durability and lower maintenance requirements. The excavator is powered by a 1,200 kW electric motor, which helps reduce noise and vibration while improving efficiency and component life in demanding mining conditions.
The delivery also highlights the long-standing partnership between Assarel-Medet, Alki-L and Liebherr-Export, which began in 1993 with the delivery of an L 506 wheel loader. Today, Assarel-Medet operates 28 Liebherr machines, including wheel loaders, dozers, wheeled excavators and large mining excavators.
