New Delhi - Lotus Cars., an automotive manufacturer, has launched the Emira sports car in India, marking the brand's only ICE-powered model. This lightweight, mid-engine car showcases Lotus heritage. The launch also introduced the Emeya electric hyper-GT, which joins the Eletre electric SUV in Lotus Indian line-up.

Lotus offers two engine options for the Emira in India: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged AMG engine and a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine. The turbocharged engine comes in two variants – 365hp/430Nm (Turbo) and 406hp/480Nm (Turbo SE), while the V6 engine produces 406hp and 420Nm of peak torque.

Both versions of the Emira feature transversely mounted engines powering the rear axle. The Toyota-sourced engine is offered with both a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox, while the AMG four-cylinder engine is exclusively paired with an 8-speed DCT gearbox. The Emira weighs 1,405 kg at its lightest. In its fastest variant, the Turbo SE, it claims a 0-100 km/h time of 4 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h. The Turbo SE also comes with a launch control function as standard.

The Lotus Emira takes design cues from the Evija, with its sleek sports car proportions. The front features Evija-inspired headlamps and stylish bonnet scoops, while prominent side intakes, short overhangs, and muscular haunches define its profile. At the rear, C-shaped LED light clusters are connected by a high-mounted brake light. Lotus offers customisation options, with the Emira Turbo and V6 in Vivid Red, and the Turbo SE in Zinc Grey, featuring exclusive 20-inch Satin Grey wheels.

Inside, the Emira features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, along with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. It also offers modern convenience features like a multifunction steering wheel, a 10-channel KEF premium sound system, optional 12-way-adjustable sports seats, cruise control, and ADAS. The quality of materials and the fit and finish are also exceptional.

The interior offers a hassle-free environment, providing the driver with easy access to all information and controls. Notably, it includes physical controls for climate and drive mode functions, which is essential in a sports car. Storage is also well thought out, with cupholders, door pockets, a storage box between the seats, open space under the center console, and room behind the front seats for soft bags. Customers can also customize interior colors and branding to their preference.
