North Carolina, United States- Mack Trucks Inc., a truck manufacturing company has introduced Mack Protect, its all-new proprietary active safety and collision mitigation system. Debuting with the next-generation Mack Pioneer Class 8 highway truck, the new system replaces the previously used Bendix Fusion suite across Mack’s Class 8 lineup. Mack Protect is designed in-house to deliver safety features engineered specifically for Mack trucks, marking a major advancement in driver protection and operational safety.
Mack Protect will be available in three clearly defined packages, allowing customers to choose the level of safety that best matches their fleet requirements. The Standard package includes forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic stop-and-go functionality, forward pedestrian detection, road sign recognition, and frontal airbags.
Building on this, the Pro package adds extensive side protection features such as side curtain airbags, blind spot detection, lane change support for both sides, and side pedestrian detection. The most advanced option, Premier, further includes active steering and lane-keeping assist capabilities for comprehensive control and lane support.
Mr. Blake Routh, Senior Highway Product Manager at Mack Trucks, said, “We’ve taken a thoughtful approach to packaging these safety technologies. Rather than overwhelming customers with complex option lists, we've created intuitive packages that make it easy to select the right level of protection for their specific applications.”
In addition to consolidating safety features into clear tiers, Mack Protect introduces several new technologies never before offered on Mack trucks. These include Driver Awareness Support with a heads-up display, radar detection on both driver and passenger sides, automatic pedestrian detection and alerts (front and side), and active steering with lane-keeping functionality.
Mack Protect reflects Mack Trucks’ ongoing commitment to safety innovation and driver-focused technology in the heavy-duty vehicle segment.
Mr. Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America, said, “With Mack Protect, we're not just introducing new safety features – we’re fundamentally changing our approach to active safety technology. By developing our own proprietary system, we’ve created a seamlessly integrated safety experience that’s optimized specifically for our vehicles and our customers’ needs.”
