Mumbai – Mahindra, a major Indian multinational conglomerate, has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme across its complete Electric Origin SUV portfolio, covering the BE 6 SPORTEQ, XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

First introduced with the BE 6 SPORTEQ, the BaaS model is designed to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable by allowing customers to finance the vehicle and battery separately through a dual-financing structure.

Under the programme, the BE 6 SPORTEQ starts at ₹11.45 lakh, while the battery can be financed at an effective usage cost of ₹3.75 per km. This approach reduces the initial purchase cost and gives buyers greater flexibility in managing monthly expenses.

Following strong customer response, Mahindra has extended BaaS across all variants of the BE 6 SPORTEQ and introduced the programme for its flagship electric SUVs. The XEV 9S now starts at ₹12.65 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at ₹13.90 lakh, with battery financing available at an effective cost of ₹3.75 per km.

With this expansion, Mahindra aims to lower the entry barriers to EV ownership and provide customers with more flexible and accessible financing options across its electric SUV range.

BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) / Dual Loan is a financing solution provided by participating finance partners and does not operate as a pay-per-use programme. Loan approval is subject to the financier’s eligibility criteria, terms and conditions.

The stated BaaS pricing is calculated based on a battery EMI starting from ₹6,975, equivalent to an estimated usage cost of ₹3.75 per km, assuming daily usage of 60 km and a specified down payment. Actual battery EMI may vary depending on battery capacity, down payment and loan tenure.

The quoted BaaS prices exclude charging expenses, maintenance and repair costs, charger cost, road tax, insurance, TCS and other applicable statutory charges. The programme is available for personal use only.
