Jaisalmer- Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a SUV manufacturer, has launched the XUV 7XO, positioning it as a new trendsetter in the premium SUV segment while reinforcing its focus on “democratising technology” by offering advanced features even in the lower variants. The AX trim comes with an extensive standard package that includes 31.24 cm coast-to-coast triple HD screens, Intelligent ADRENOX, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa built-in with ChatGPT integration, cruise control, push-button start/stop, and a comprehensive suite of safety features.

On the design front, the XUV 7XO is styled to carry a “tough-premium” identity. It features an all-new piano-black grille with jewel-like talon accents, Bi-LED projector headlamps with DRLs, clear-lens LED tail lamps, R19 diamond-cut alloy wheels, and premium detailing across the body that aims to make the SUV look both rugged and upscale.

Inside, the focus is on a more immersive, tech-forward cabin experience. Highlights include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system paired with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, a 540-degree surround camera with digital video recording, and Level-2 ADAS with visualisation. Convenience features include a frameless electrochromic IRVM, memory ORVMs with reverse auto-tilt, along with Approach Unlock and Walk Away Lock, supported by Mahindra’s connected-car ecosystem.

Mahindra is also highlighting a major mechanical upgrade with the global debut of its DAVINCI damping technology, a new valve-based damping system intended to deliver a smoother and more settled ride. The suspension setup includes a front McPherson strut and a multi-link independent rear suspension, along with frequency selective damping and a stabilizer bar, aimed at balancing comfort and handling.

The XUV 7XO also raises the luxury and comfort quotient with features such as powered front seats, including memory for the driver and Boss Mode for the co-driver, along with front and rear ventilated seats. Other comfort additions include high-density foam seats with plush pads, multi-zone ambient lighting, soft-touch leatherette finishes, front and rear wireless charging with active cooling, dual-zone automatic climate control with Quiet Mode, an acoustic solar windscreen, and retractable rear sunshades.

For performance and capability, the XUV 7XO offers a choice of 2.0L mStallion TGDi petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbo-diesel engines, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. Mahindra also highlights an AWD option on the diesel, along with multiple drive modes Zip, Zap, Zoom, and a Custom Mode—and claims a 0–60 km/h time of under 5 seconds for the Petrol MT.

Safety remains a headline focus, with Mahindra stating over 120 safety features, including 75 as standard, alongside Level-2 ADAS with Sense+ (17 functions), a 540-degree camera, driver monitoring aids, and convenience safety technologies like an electronic parking brake with auto hold and TPMS with learning. The company says the vehicle is engineered for a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

Speaking at the launch, R Velusamy, President of Mahindra’s Automotive Business, said the XUV 7XO is designed to feel smoother, sharper and smarter, highlighting the debut of the DAVINCI suspension and the upgraded tech stack.

Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer, said the SUV was crafted to look instantly recognizable yet unmistakably new, combining Mahindra’s authentic SUV character with a more refined, futuristic cabin.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division, added that the XUV 7XO is aimed at taking the benchmark created by the XUV700 to the next level as expectations in India’s SUV segment continue to rise.
