Mumbai - Mahindra & Mahindra., a tractor manufacturer, unveiled its latest alternate fuel tractor technologies at Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur. The showcase was attended by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare & Rural Development.
At the event, Mahindra introduced a new range of sustainable tractor innovations, including:
- CNG/CBG Tractor: Built on the Yuvo Tech+ platform, the tractor can operate on CNG, CBG, and dual-fuel (Diesel-CNG), offering lower running costs and reduced emissions.
- Ethanol Flex Fuel Engine: A new engine technology capable of running on ethanol derived from agricultural waste sources such as sugarcane, maize, crop residue and bio-based feedstocks.
- Electric Tractor: Based on the Mahindra OJA lightweight platform, the electric model provides high torque, quiet operation, fast charging, and low operating cost for farm and utility applications.
All technologies have been developed at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, reinforcing the company’s commitment to lead India’s transition toward cleaner and smarter farm mechanization solutions.
