Houston, Texas - Mahindra Tractors., a tractor manufacturer, has crossed the milestone of 3 lakh (300,000) tractor sales, marking three decades of steady growth and acceptance in the American market.
Mr. Anand Mahindra., Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, said, "We recently crossed a milestone that fills us with pride and even more gratitude. With 300,000 tractors delivered across the country, this isn't just a number for us. It's 300,000 stories of trust, resilience, and partnership. I vividly remember when our company tentatively introduced our tractors to the USA more than 3 decades ago. We had a legendary colleague, Rip Evans who-dressed in his trademark ironed jeans and cowboy hat & boots-would load one tractor at a time on his beat-up pickup truck and drive around Texas introducing sceptical farmers to this ‘sturdy Indian tractor!"
From those modest beginnings, Mahindra has become a major player in the North American agricultural equipment market. Yet, as Mahindra emphasized, the company remains grounded: “We will stay humble, retain our challenger mindset, and continue to focus on the needs of our customers-farmers who work tirelessly to feed a continent and who deserve the best we can offer.”
Mahindra Agri North America operates across tractors, utility vehicles, and other farm equipment, focusing on boosting efficiency and launching targeted products to better suit the North American market. The company first built a strong foothold in Texas with its tractor range before expanding further, recently opening a new facility in Pontiac, Michigan. North America remains one of Mahindra’s largest overseas markets, especially for farm equipment.
This milestone stands as a testament to Mahindra’s evolution in the US market, from being the new player with an unknown product to becoming a trusted name in American agriculture.
