Shady Grove, Pennsylvania – Manitowoc Cranes, a crane manufacturer, has introduced the Grove GMK8700, its largest all-terrain crane, offering 800 tons of lifting capacity for heavy infrastructure, industrial and energy applications.

The eight-axle crane is available with 177-foot and 263-foot boom options featuring Manitowoc’s Megaform design and interchangeable telescopic sections. It also offers a luffing jib up to 351 feet and counterweight capacity of up to 385,000 pounds.

The GMK8700 is the first Grove crane to feature Manitowoc’s Variable Position Counterweight technology, which allows operators to adjust counterweight positioning for improved lift performance. It also supports the self-rigging MegaWingLift system for faster setup without an auxiliary crane.

The crane debuts Manitowoc’s next-generation CCS 2.0 control system, integrated with Grove Connect telematics and MAXbase 2.0 variable outrigger positioning for real-time lift calculations, diagnostics and setup guidance.

For transport and maneuverability, the GMK8700 features Manitowoc’s MegaDrive system and can travel with the boom over the front or on a dolly, depending on local regulations.
