Manitowoc launches its largest Grove GHC200, a 200-ton telescoping crawler crane with a 185-ft boom, built for tough terrains.
Date: March 10, 2025Wisconsin, United States – The Manitowoc Company, Inc., a construction equipment manufacturer, has launched its largest Grove Hydraulic Crawler (GHC) crane, the all-new GHC200. With a 200-ton capacity and a 185-foot (56.4-meter) main boom, this telescoping crawler crane enhances the GHC series capability to navigate challenging terrains such as swamps and mountains.
The GHC200 brings advanced features to enhance performance and versatility on demanding job sites. One of its key upgrades is the 90% pinning location on the boom, allowing for increased lifting capacity and greater flexibility during setup. The crane boasts an impressive maximum tip height of 265.7 feet (81 meters) when equipped with a manual or hydraulic swingaway extension, providing exceptional reach for various applications.
Additionally, it is engineered to pick and carry 100% of its load chart while operating on inclines of up to 4 degrees. Its ability to swing loads a full 360 degrees further improves maneuverability, making it a powerful and adaptable solution for challenging lifting tasks.
The main and auxiliary hoists are equipped with drum rotation and third wrap indicators, ensuring precise operation. They utilize 26-millimeter wire rope and provide a powerful maximum single-line pull of 13.5 tons (29,765 pounds), enhancing lifting efficiency and performance.
The GHC200 can be transported in six or seven loads and features quick self-assembly. Its cab includes a heated air suspension seat, climate control for comfort, and cameras for hoist, rear, and right-side views. A 20-degree tilting cab enhances visibility and ease when operating at high angles with an extended boom.
Mr. JJ Grace, Product manager for GHC cranes at Manitowoc, said, “As jobs get more challenging, higher load charts are needed to accomplish them. We are excited to bring the GHC200 to the market because it will increase the ability of companies to compete for and win jobs that require higher lifting capacities. It is an ideal crane for general construction and renewable energy, for example, because of its strength and increased pick-and-carry capabilities.”
