Munich, Germany - The Manitowoc Company, Inc., a cranes manufacturer, unveiled the Potain Igo T 139, the largest model in its Igo T range of self-erecting cranes. Designed to deliver high lifting capacities with compact jobsite compatibility, the Igo T 139 represents the next evolution in the Potain Igo T series, offering greater versatility for short-term and urban construction projects.
With a maximum lifting capacity of 8 tonnes, the Igo T 139 can be configured with either a 50 m or 55 m jib. Using the Potain Plus capacity-enhancing mode, the crane is capable of lifting 1.2 tonnes at the tip of a 55 m jib or 2 tonnes at the tip of a 50 m jib, providing exceptional performance at extended reaches.
Designed for flexibility and speed, the Igo T 139 can be transported as a semi-trailer at speeds of up to 80 km/h, making it ideal for projects requiring rapid deployment. The slewing radius as small as 3.5 meters ensures it can operate even in tight urban environments. The crane features a telescoping lattice mast, allowing its hook height to reach up to 40.7 m through the simple addition of 6 m mast sections.
Manitowoc has also introduced newly designed 4,050 kg ballast slabs that stack more efficiently on the crane for easier handling. Setup on site is streamlined through Potain’s proven Smart Setup system, requiring just a few steps to begin operation.
Mr. Remi Deporte, product manager for self-erecting cranes at Manitowoc, said, "The Potain Igo T 139 sets new standards of excellence in our telescoping, self-erecting cranes. These new cranes are perfect for shorter-term jobsites where larger loads must be lifted. They offer a perfect combination of capacity, reach, and compactness with the added benefit of the latest Potain technologies."
Additional options include the Ultraview cab for applications that require elevated operator positions, and Potain CONNECT, a telematics platform that enhances fleet management and simplifies troubleshooting.
The Igo T 139 joins other cranes in the Igo T lineup, including the Igo T 70 A, Igo T 85 A, Igo T 99, and Igo T 130—further cementing Potain’s position as a leader in self-erecting crane innovation.
