New Delhi- Maruti Suzuki India Limited., has introduced automatic S-CNG variants of its popular Swift, Dzire and Baleno models under its Auto Green Mission. The new range combines the convenience of automatic driving with fuel efficiency, offering customers an alternative for everyday driving. The company states that the Dzire automatic S-CNG is India's most fuel-efficient sedan, delivering a claimed mileage of 36.47 km/kg.

As Indian cities continue to grow, customers increasingly want the convenience of automatic cars without compromising on fuel efficiency and performance in traffic. Under the Auto Green Mission, the new automatic S-CNG models are designed to meet these needs. The Swift, Dzire and Baleno are among India's bestselling cars, and their new automatic S-CNG variants are expected to attract more customers.”
He added that demand for Maruti Suzuki's S-CNG vehicles continues to grow as more customers consider environmentally friendly vehicle options. According to the company, S-CNG vehicle sales increased by 58% in the first quarter compared with the same quarter of the previous year. In July, the company recorded its highest-ever monthly S-CNG sales, with 83,000 units. Maruti Suzuki expects the new automatic S-CNG models to support the growing adoption of cleaner mobility options in India.
The Swift, Dzire and Baleno S-CNG models are powered by the Advanced Z12E 1.2-litre engine, featuring Dual Variable Valve Timing (Dual VVT) and Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology. These technologies are designed to support engine performance and fuel efficiency.
The engine is paired with Maruti Suzuki's Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission, also known as an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). The five-speed gearbox changes gears automatically, helping drivers navigate traffic without manually shifting gears. It also provides an option for manual gear changes without the need for a clutch.
With the introduction of automatic S-CNG variants for the Swift, Dzire and Baleno, Maruti Suzuki aims to offer customers a combination of driving convenience and fuel efficiency while expanding its range of CNG-powered vehicles.
