New Delhi- Maruti Suzuki India Limited., an automobile manufacturer,has entered into a strategic partnership with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to promote cross-border innovation and unlock new business opportunities for startups in both India and Japan.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Dr. Tapan Sahoo, Executive Officer – Digital Enterprise, Maruti Suzuki, and Mr. Takashi Suzuki, Chief Director General, JETRO India. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
Key Highlights of the MoU:
- Cross-border Startup Ecosystem Access: The collaboration enables Indian startups to explore the innovation ecosystem in Japan and gives Japanese startups access to India’s dynamic startup landscape.
- Bilateral Innovation Exchange: The MoU aims to foster mutual growth through innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between the two nations.
- Startup Networking and Events: Startups will be supported through participation in curated business events, networking opportunities, and access to potential partners in both countries.
Eligible Programs for Startups:
Indian startups selected under Maruti Suzuki’s flagship innovation initiatives will be eligible for global exposure. These includes Accelerator Program, Incubation Program, Mobility Challenge, Nurture Program
Similarly, startups from Japan can enter and engage with India's thriving startup ecosystem through JETRO’s platform.
