Date: October 9, 2024Pune - Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Daimler AG, has launched the new all-new Long Wheelbase (LWB) E-Class, which sets new benchmarks in the luxury business limousine segment by completely redefining the category.
The all-new LWB E-Class offers impressive features across three variants: E200, E220d, and E450 4MATIC. Key highlights include the advanced MBUX Superscreen with AI capabilities, personalized routines, and a focus on rear-seat comfort. The car features a unique selfie camera for in-car video calls, a Burmester 4D Surround Sound System with 17 speakers, and electrically reclining rear seats with sun blinds.
This sixth-generation model builds on the E-Class’s legacy, blending cutting-edge digital technology with traditional luxury and safety. Notable innovations include the THERMOTRONIC Digital Vent Control for personalized climate adjustments and AI-driven routines that adapt to driver preferences. Safety is prioritized with eight airbags, including a front center airbag, and a robust passenger cell design.
With a generous wheelbase of 3,094 mm, the new LWB E-Class redefines luxury in the executive sedan segment, offering unmatched comfort and an immersive tech experience, solidifying its status as the most desirable business saloon in India.
The ‘Made in India, for India’ LWB E-Class features key adaptations for local road conditions, including an Enhanced Agility Control Suspension and locally sourced side and quarter glasses. This model is the first India-specific Mercedes-Benz tested globally in Spain and Germany for emissions and crash standards. Notable features include customizable Active Brake Assist and the introduction of a front center airbag. The all-India ex-showroom introductory prices are ₹78.5 lakhs for the E 200 (deliveries starting this week), ₹81.5 lakhs for the E 220d (deliveries from Diwali), and ₹92.5 lakhs for the E 450 4MATIC (deliveries in November), with "Expression of Interest" currently being collected for the E 450 4MATIC.
The LWB E-Class variants are as follows: the E200 has a displacement of 1999 cc, producing 150 kW (204 hp) and 320 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 240 km/h. The E220d features a 1993 cc displacement, delivering 145 kW (197 hp) and 440 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 238 km/h. The E450 boasts a 2999 cc displacement, generating 280 kW (381 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and a maximum speed of 250 km/h. All variants come with an additional power boost of 17 kW (23 hp) and an extra torque boost of 205 Nm.
