Milan, Italy- Metzeler, the German motorcycle tyre manufacturer, has announced the launch of three all-new tyres at its stand (Booth i54, Pavilion 5) during EICMA 2025, held in Milan from 4–9 November. The highlights of the showcase will be the supersport Sportec 01, Sportec 01 RS, and the adventure-oriented Karoo 4 Street on/off-road tyre, all set to join Metzeler’s 2026 lineup.
For more than a decade, Metzeler’s Sportec range has been a benchmark in the supersport tyre segment, known for grip, versatility, and strong wet-weather performance. Success stories like the Sportec M7 RR and Sportec M9 RR—developed with insight from road racing and the Isle of Man TT—have earned international acclaim for their handling and stability.
The new Sportec 01 and the sportier Sportec 01 RS continue that legacy with even higher performance targets. Both tyres utilise Metzeler’s patented DYNATREAD™ technology, which enables an adaptive tread pattern for enhanced grip, stability, and high-speed performance.
- Sportec 01 succeeds the M9 RR and is designed for sporty road riding in varying conditions, offering improved wet performance and higher mileage compared to the RS version.
- Sportec 01 RS is a more extreme, road-legal tyre aimed at riders who demand maximum grip for spirited road riding and occasional track days—ideal for those who want to ride to the circuit and straight onto the track without changing tyres.
The new Karoo 4 Street joins Metzeler’s adventure tyre family as the successor to the Karoo Street. Designed for 70% road and 30% off-road use, it caters to riders of large adventure and maxi-enduro motorcycles seeking strong on-road performance without sacrificing off-road capability. With new profiles, improved knob spacing, and multi-pitch design, it delivers better handling, more uniform wear, improved comfort, and stronger traction on softer terrain.
All three tyres will be part of the Metzeler 2026 range, with availability for consumers beginning in the early months of next year, depending on the market.
