Birmingham, UK - MG Motor UK Ltd. an automotive manufacturer, has introduced the all-new MGS9 PHEV, its first 7-seat SUV, offering a spacious three-row cabin, over 1,000 litres of boot space, a 24.7kWh battery with up to 62 miles of electric-only range.
With the third-row seats folded, the all-new MGS9 PHEV provides over 1,000 litres of cargo space, making it practical for luggage, pets, strollers, and everyday family needs. Even in full seven-seat configuration, it still offers a useful 332 litres of boot capacity.
Powered by MG’s established plug-in hybrid system, already proven in the award-winning MG HS, the MGS9 PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 24.7kWh battery, delivering up to 62 miles of electric-only range, suitable for most daily commutes and family journeys.
David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG UK, said “The launch of the MGS9 PHEV is an important step for the brand, as it enters the 7-seat SUV category and further expands its presence in the large SUV segment. He noted that, being longer and taller than the MG HS, the new model offers greater road presence, added practicality, and the flexibility of a third row to suit the changing needs of families and lifestyle-focused buyers. He also highlighted that the MGS9 PHEV combines a strong electric driving range, efficient performance, and a higher level of features and refinement, reinforcing MG’s focus on accessible innovation and outstanding value in the competitive 7-seat SUV market.”
As expected from MG, the all-new MGS9 PHEV comes well equipped with premium comfort features such as leather-style seats, a large panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seating, massage functions, and tri-zone climate control for enhanced passenger comfort. Safety remains a core focus, and the SUV has already secured a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, supported by its high-strength steel structure and up to 16 advanced driver assistance systems. The all-new MGS9 PHEV is now open for orders in the UK, with full specification details set to be revealed later this month as the first units reach MG dealerships.
