Tokyo, Japan- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation., has announced that its Vietnamese subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MMV), has begun sales of the all-new Destinator as of December 1. The model will not be limited to Vietnam—Mitsubishi Motors plans to roll it out across additional ASEAN markets, as well as South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, ultimately targeting around 70 countries worldwide.
Positioned under the product concept “Confidence Booster for Energetic Families,” the all-new Destinator is a seven-seat midsize SUV with a spacious three-row cabin. Its name reflects Mitsubishi’s intention that the vehicle will give drivers and their families the confidence to explore new destinations. The Destinator blends a robust, authentic SUV exterior with an upscale, roomy interior designed to keep all occupants comfortable. It also promises strong, responsive performance and dependable handling across a wide variety of road and weather conditions.
“For more than 30 years, MMV has steadily grown and strengthened its business,” said Tomoki Yanagawa, general director of MMV. “In recent years, models such as the Xpander and Xforce have been very well received by our customers. With the all-new Destinator, which combines the toughness of an SUV with the comfort of an MPV, we truly hope it will become a trusted family companion in Vietnam, delivering both comfort and a sense of adventure on every journey.”
The Destinator first debuted in Indonesia in July this year and has made a strong impression in a short span of time. In roughly four months, it received around 12,000 orders—already exceeding Mitsubishi Motors’ full-year sales target of 10,000 units for fiscal 2025 (April 2025 to March 2026). Following its Indonesian launch, the model was introduced in the Philippines on November 20, and the subsequent launch in Vietnam is expected to further reinforce Mitsubishi Motors’ footprint in the ASEAN region.
In addition to its commercial success, the all-new Destinator has earned recognition in design. It received the gold award in the Best Industrial Product Design category at the VMARK Vietnam Design Award 2025, organized by the VDAS Design Association. This is the third time Mitsubishi Motors has secured a gold award at VMARK, following the Xforce in 2023 and the Triton in 2024.
