Lagos, Nigeria- Massilia Motors Ltd., the exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Nigeria, has officially launched the all-new Mitsubishi L200 pickup in partnership with CFAO Mobility. The launch event took place at the prestigious Eko Atlantic in Victoria Island, Lagos, attracting industry leaders, auto enthusiasts, and stakeholders who had the chance to explore the next-generation vehicle.
Renowned for its ruggedness and reliability, the latest L200 model has undergone a major redesign, ensuring it remains one of the toughest pickups on the market. The vehicle features a newly engineered chassis frame that enhances ride quality, handling, noise reduction, vibration control, durability, and safety. Built with high-tensile materials, the frame guarantees optimal strength even in harsh conditions. A redesigned suspension system, with a front double wishbone and a three-layer rear leaf spring setup, provides smoother driving and superior stability, especially on rough terrain.
The new L200 is powered by a 2.4-liter petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, showcasing a bold design with a striking front grille. It also includes Mitsubishi’s legendary 4WD system for exceptional traction and stability. The vehicle's design earned it the 2024–2025 Japan Car of the Year Design Award.
Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution, which enhance braking and torque control for maximum stability. Inside, the L200 offers a refined cabin with ergonomic seating inspired by Mitsubishi's rally heritage, a new air-conditioning system, and improved legroom and headroom. The vehicle also boasts a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 7-inch multi-information display, and ample cargo space, with a 2340mm x 1580mm bucket area and the largest rear step in its segment. Additional features, like slip-resistant footing and wider rear bumper corners, ensure safety and ease of access in all conditions.
Mr. Olivier Lamoure, Managing Director of Massilia Motors, said, “The L200 features improved aerodynamics, reduced turning radius (6.2m to 5.9m), and increased ground clearance (200mm to 212mm) for better off-road performance. Lamoure from Massilia Motors emphasizes giving customers the opportunity to test the vehicle firsthand, proving its performance and reliability in real-world conditions.”
