Tokyo, Japan- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation., an automobile company and Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Foxconn, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the supply of an electric vehicle (EV) model. Under the agreement, Foxtron will develop the EV, which will be manufactured in Taiwan by Yulon Motor Co., Ltd., and supplied to Mitsubishi Motors as an OEM model. The vehicle is expected to be introduced in Australia and New Zealand in the second half of 2026, as part of Mitsubishi’s product plan for the Oceania region extending through 2030. The new model will feature excellent driving performance as an EV and an advanced infotainment system, tailored for the needs of the Oceania market.

This collaboration is part of Mitsubishi Motors’ broader environmental strategy to expand its electrified vehicle lineup. In addition to this new partnership with Foxtron, Mitsubishi Motors is also focusing on upgrading its existing models, such as the Outlander PHEV, and expanding hybrid EV offerings for the ASEAN market with the Xpander and Xforce. The company is also exploring further collaboration with its Alliance partners, including Renault Group and Nissan Motor, to accelerate its electrification efforts and support its carbon neutrality goals.
