New Delhi - Montra Electric., the clean mobility brand under the diversified Murugappa Group, has announced its significant foray into northern India with the launch of the Montra Electric E-27 — the country’s first ARAI-certified electric tractor. The introduction took place at the 9th edition of EIMA Agrimach India 2025, a leading international exhibition showcasing advancements in farm mechanization.
The E-27 marks a significant leap in cleaner and smarter farming for India. Powered by a high-efficiency PMSM motor delivering 27 HP equivalent power and 90 Nm torque, the e-tractor comes in both 2WD and 4WD options to suit varied farm conditions. Its 22.37 kWh LFP battery offers around 4.5 hours of runtime with a fast-charging time of just 2.15 hours, ensuring safe and reliable day-long performance.
ARAI-certified for safety and efficiency, the E-27 features an 8F+2R side-shift transmission, dual-speed PTO, and a 720 kg lifting capacity — delivering diesel-like performance without emissions. With quiet operation and minimal vibration, it greatly improves operator comfort and supports better long-term health for farmers.
