Kathmandu, Nepal -Montra Electric., has launched its Super Auto electric passenger three-wheeler in Nepal, marking the company's entry into its first international market. The company has partnered with HIPCO Trading Pvt. Ltd. as its exclusive national distributor to support sales, service, spare parts, and customer support across Nepal.

The Montra Electric Super Auto is designed to meet Nepal's hilly terrain and last-mile passenger transportation requirements. It offers 32% gradeability and features Hill-Hold Assist, helping drivers handle steep roads and gradients more smoothly.

The electric three-wheeler is powered by a 9-kWh battery pack paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It delivers 60 Nm of torque, offers a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge, and has a top speed of 55 km/h. The vehicle can be charged in approximately 4.5 hours and includes multiple drive modes.

The Super Auto also focuses on passenger and driver comfort, featuring ergonomic dual-tone seating, additional head and legroom, and a design suited to different road and weather conditions. The electric powertrain is expected to help operators reduce running and maintenance costs compared with conventional petrol-powered three-wheelers.

Mr. Arun Murugappan, Chairman of Montra Electric, said, “Our entry into Nepal is an important step in Montra Electric's international expansion and reflects our focus on providing mobility solutions suited to real-world transportation needs.”

Mr. Himanshu Golchha, Director of HIPCO Trading Pvt. Ltd., said, “The Super Auto will support Nepal's transition towards cleaner last-mile transportation and help reduce dependence on imported fuel.”
