Tychy, Poland - Tyskie Linie Trolejbusowe., (TLT Tychy) a trolleybus transport company, has signed a contract with Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., a public transport vehicles manufacturer, for the delivery of 18 modern Trollino 12 trolleybuses. The new vehicles will feature a range of innovative solutions designed to enhance passenger comfort, safety, and the overall efficiency of the city’s public transport system.
Tychy, along with Gdynia and Lublin, is one of three cities in Poland that operates trolleybuses in its public transport system. The Tychy operator, TLT, already boasts a fleet of several dozen Solaris trolleybuses. To further enhance its fleet, TLT Tychy has signed a contract with Solaris Bus & Coach in December 2024 for the delivery of 18 new twelve-meter Trollino 12 trolleybuses.
These vehicles are expected to improve the city’s public transport network with their modern design and innovative features. The deliveries are scheduled to be completed by early 2026, contributing to the growth and sustainability of Tychy’s trolleybus services.
The Trollino vehicles will feature traction batteries in addition to the traditional trolleybus drive, allowing them to operate off the overhead wires and in areas without catenary. They can be charged in two ways: while connected to the trolleybus network or when stationary, via a plug-in charging socket.
Tyskie Linie Trolejbusowe is a long-standing partner of Solaris. Since 2002, the manufacturer has delivered 30 trolleybuses and 2 electric buses to Tychy, co-creating the ecological transformation of public transport in the region.
