Phoenix, United States- Nikola Corporation., a zero-emissions transportation and energy supply and infrastructure solutions, via its HYLA brand, achieved a significant milestone  to celebrated the commercial launch of the Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle at manufacturing facility in Coolidge, Arizona.

Fleet customers, dealers from Nikola's sales and service network, government representatives, well-known Phoenix business and community leaders, and the committed Nikola team, all of whom played pivotal roles in making this accomplishment possible, all attended the celebration. Additionally, there were truck and hydrogen demonstrations, overviews of the sustainability impacts, tours of the production line, and informal technology Q&As with Nikola engineers on topics like hydrogen safety, the HYLA ecosystem, and the Nikola human-machine interface system. Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, also spoke at the event.

Mr. Steve Girsky, Nikola President and Chief Executive Officer, said that, We are officially introducing our high-tech hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks into the North American market today. It is evidence of our team's unwavering "can-do" mentality and brings us one step closer to achieving our goal of sustainable and effective transportation. In order to support our clients, we are concentrating on delivering our trucks at scale and maintaining our status as early adopters of the hydrogen refueling ecosystem.

The innovative 500-mile range hydrogen fuel cell electric truck from Nikola can be refueled in as little as 20 minutes, according to estimates. With a variety of uses including drayage, intermodal, metro-regional truckload, less-than-truckload, and some unique carrying use cases, this truck is anticipated to have one of the longest ranges of all commercially available zero tailpipe emission Class 8 trucks.

Nikola and its dealers have received 223 non-binding orders from 23 clients for its hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks, showing steady progress towards its strategic goals. Famous fleet operators like J.B. Hunt, AJR Trucking, Biagi Bros., and TTSI are among the expanding number of clients pledging to the future of environmentally friendly trucking.

A new era in transportation is about to begin with the completion of Phase 2 assembly expansion at the Coolidge manufacturing facility. The facility is equipped with a flexible mixed-model production line that can build both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell trucks, and it is prepared to reach an annual production capacity of about 2,400 trucks across three shifts.

Progress is also evident on the fuel cell power module assembly line in Coolidge, scheduled for completion in Q4 of this year, with Bosch supplying these critical modules.

Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority said that, We are honored to commemorate the opening of Nikola's cutting-edge Coolidge hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle manufacturing facility. "Nikola's investment in Arizona's supply chain for electric vehicles and their collaboration with top suppliers are fostering additional economic growth. We look forward to helping Nikola succeed as the business continues to influence transportation in the future from Coolidge.
