Madrid, Spain- Nissan Motor Corporation., and Silence, the electric vehicle brand by Acciona, have expanded their S04 Nanocar range with four new models. This strategic move responds to the growing demand for compact, comfortable, and efficient mobility solutions suited for urban environments.

The newly expanded line-up, available exclusively through Nissan’s European dealer network, now includes the Silence S04 L6e ‘Unico’, making electric city mobility more affordable. Also introduced is the Silence S04 L6e ‘Vivo’, a premium variant offering enhanced features for added comfort and convenience. The Silence S04 L7e ‘Plus’ delivers improved power and range, catering to users seeking higher performance. Rounding out the range is the Silence S04 Cargo, available in both L6e and L7e versions, specifically designed to support last-mile delivery and light commercial operations.

This expanded Nanocar range reflects Nissan and Silence’s shared goal of making electric mobility more inclusive and practical, supporting everyday urban travel and accelerating the shift to sustainable transport across Europe.

Mr. Gareth Dunsmore, Managing Director, Nissan eMicro Mobility AMIEO, said, “With this expanded range, through our Nissan retail network we are offering our Nissan customers even more choice when it comes to how they move - whether that's commuting, running errands or operating a small business. Each model brings together premium design, everyday comfort and compact convenience that fits effortlessly into city life and beyond. Its part of our shared ambition with Silence to make electric mobility more accessible, more adaptable and more relevant to how people live today”.

Nissan and Silence, Acciona’s electric vehicle brand, have expanded the S04 Nanocar lineup with new models and innovative ownership options, making compact electric mobility more accessible and practical for urban living.

Leading the expansion is the Silence S04 L6e ‘Unico’, an affordable entry-level model offering up to 100 km of range and now equipped with a rear-view camera. , the Unico aims to broaden access to urban electric mobility.

The S04 L6e ‘Vivo’ adds a more premium touch, featuring a 7-inch TFT screen, an enhanced braking system, and a multifunction steering wheel with integrated call-in/call-out functionality. Both L6e models offer 6 kW (8.1 hp) of power and a top speed of 45 km/h, and in some markets, they are eligible to be driven from the age of 14, depending on local regulations.

For users needing more power and flexibility, the S04 L7e ‘Plus’ offers a significant upgrade. It includes all the premium features of the Vivo and delivers 14 kW (19 hp) of power with a top speed of 85 km/h, making it suitable for longer city commutes and larger roads.

All models in the S04 range include a weather-protected cabin with air conditioning and heating as standard an important comfort feature that sets them apart in their segment. The vehicles use removable trolley-style batteries that can be recharged using a standard household socket, eliminating the need for public or on-street charging infrastructure. Their compact dimensions and agile handling make them ideal for navigating congested urban environments.

Each vehicle is compatible with the My Silence mobile app (available on iOS and Android), which allows for keyless entry, remote ignition, vehicle sharing, GPS tracking, motion alerts, and real-time monitoring of battery levels, range, and CO₂ savings.

For commercial users, the new S04 Cargo model, available in both L6e and L7e formats, features a 414-litre load compartment. It is designed for last-mile delivery, service logistics, and other light commercial applications in urban areas.

To further support EV adoption, Nissan and Acciona will begin trialling Battery Exchange Stations this summer in France, starting in Paris. These stations, located at Nissan dealerships, fuel stations, and public car parks, allow users to swap out depleted batteries for fully charged ones in under 30 seconds. This Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model helps reduce the vehicle's upfront cost and eliminates the need for battery maintenance—especially valuable for city drivers without home charging access.

Currently, Silence operates 160 battery swap stations across major cities in Spain and plans to expand to over 200 by the end of the year. Customers can also choose a battery subscription model, which allows them to purchase an S04 Nanocar without the battery, lowering the upfront cost by up to €2,000 on dual-battery models. To encourage early adoption, the first year of battery subscription is free.

Through these expanded models and service offerings, Nissan and Silence are not only making electric vehicles more affordable and practical, but also laying the groundwork for a sustainable, smart, and scalable future in urban electric mobility.
