Nissan Introduces New LEAF NISMO in Japan

Yokohama, Japan - Nissan Motor Co., a Japanese multinational automaker, has launched the Nissan LEAF NISMO in Japan, adding a sportier variant to its electric vehicle portfolio.

Since the first-generation LEAF debuted in 2010, the model has recorded approximately 700,000 global sales. Nissan introduced the third-generation LEAF in Japan in January 2026, featuring a new EV platform, improved driving range, enhanced performance and advanced technologies.

Based on the latest LEAF, the new LEAF NISMO joins Nissan’s NISMO road-car lineup by combining motorsport-inspired performance with everyday usability. The model delivers sharper handling and a more engaging driving experience while retaining the practicality of the standard electric vehicle.

NISMO-Tuned Performance

The Nissan LEAF NISMO has been developed as an agile electric sport crossover with sharper handling and improved driving response. It features NISMO-tuned suspension, swing-valve shock absorbers, Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres and lightweight 19-inch Enkei wheels.

Its Standard, ECO and Sport modes receive dedicated NISMO tuning, while Sport mode becomes NISMO Mode for stronger and more linear acceleration. Regenerative-braking paddles with four adjustable levels further improve driver engagement.

Performance-Focused Design

The exterior includes aerodynamic front air guides, lower-door finishers, a rear under-spoiler and an extended ducktail spoiler. These components increase downforce without adding drag.

Red NISMO accents, gloss-black mirrors and exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray colour options give the vehicle a wider, lower and sportier appearance.

Driver-Focused Interior

The cabin features a black-and-red theme, NISMO-specific displays and controls, a TailorFit™ steering wheel and sport seats with embroidered NISMO logos. Optional RECARO seats provide additional support and comfort.
