Tokyo, Japan- Nissan Motor Corporation., has announced that its next-generation ProPILOT autonomous driving technology will launch starting fiscal year 2027, marking a significant step toward fully autonomous driving. This upcoming version will integrate Nissan's proprietary Ground Truth Perception technology with advanced Lidar systems and Wayve’s AI Driver software.

The enhanced ProPILOT system is set to redefine autonomous driving by offering highly advanced collision avoidance capabilities and seamless operation across both urban and highway environments. Central to this innovation is the collaboration with Wayve, a global AI company that is pioneering embodied AI for driving applications.

Wayve’s AI Driver software, built on its proprietary embodied AI foundation model, mimics human-like driving behavior in real-world traffic conditions. Leveraging vast datasets and generative AI (GenAI) technologies, Wayve's system continuously learns and adapts, improving over time to ensure safe and reliable point-to-point driving.

This collaboration underscores Nissan’s long-term vision for safer, smarter, and more autonomous mobility solutions. With the integration of Wayve’s adaptive AI, Nissan aims to offer vehicles that can seamlessly respond to the complexities of real-world driving, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in driver assistance and autonomy.

Nissan’s move to incorporate cutting-edge AI and sensor technologies signals a new era in automotive innovation blending precision hardware with adaptive software for a safer driving future.
