      New Delhi/Leh- NTPC Limited has invited expression of Interest to provide 10 Hydrogen Fuel Cell (FC) buses in Leh and Delhi for transportation.

                  Tata motors earlier launched Hydrogen powered Tata Starbus fuel cell bus in 2018 further testing in Indian oil corporation limited for last two year and other player can be one of the key participants. In hydrogen fuel technology supported by MNRE in drafting the policies required for clearance, this was announced by the secretary of MNRE during the meeting in hydrogen mission on Feb 2020.

                  MNRE has been working out its focus on increased use of hydrogen fueled transportation for quite some time and at January-end, government officials met an Italian delegation to discuss about new opportunities for collaboration and potential investment projects in the fields of hydrogen, fuel cells and electrolysers.

                  Anand Kumar, Secretary, MNRE said "MNRE and NTPC propose to launch a pilot Fuel Cell Bus Transformation project in an effort to make Leh carbon-neutral,"
