Bengaluru- Oben Electric Vehicles Private Limited., has launched a battery protection plan, Protect 8/80. Touted as the most affordable plan of its kind in the country, it sets a new standard for long-term reliability and peace of mind for EV riders.
Protect 8/80 offers an extended battery warranty for 8 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. Available from May 1, 2025, the plan will be accessible to both existing and new customers of the Oben Rorr EZ, across its 36 authorised dealerships nationwide. This initiative is part of Oben’s commitment to consumer-first innovation and trust-building in India’s rapidly evolving electric two-wheeler segment.
As the first offering of its kind in the commuter electric motorcycle category, the Protect 8/80 plan stands out for its comprehensive coverage. It includes repairs and replacements for all battery-related concerns, with Oben assuring consistent performance, top speed, and acceleration throughout the warranty period. This directly addresses one of the major concerns among EV owners—long-term battery viability and performance drop-offs.
Oben Electric is extending this protection plan to both 3.4 kWh and 4.4 kWh variants of the Rorr EZ, one of the most popular electric commuter motorcycles in India. With an IDC-certified range of 175 km, acceleration from 0–40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, and a top speed of 95 km/h, the Rorr EZ offers an ideal blend of urban practicality and spirited riding. Starting at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom), the Rorr EZ is already competitively priced, and now with Protect 8/80, it brings even greater value to riders.
