Bangalore - Oben Electric Vehicles Private Limited, one of India’s top homegrown electric motorcycle manufacturers, has announced its upcoming O100 electric motorcycle platform, designed to penetrate the rapidly growing 100cc equivalent electric two-wheeler market in India. Engineered at Oben’s Bengaluru R&D center, the O100 platform is set to deliver affordable, reliable, and efficient electric motorcycles priced under ₹1 lakh, addressing the needs of India’s largest commuter segment that accounts for nearly 30% of the two-wheeler market.
Built with a scalable and modular architecture, the O100 platform enables faster product development, easy manufacturing scale-up, and supports multiple variants with flexible battery options and features tailored for different user segments. The platform is future-ready, allowing seamless integration of emerging electric vehicle technologies and infrastructure upgrades, making it a strategic foundation for long-term EV growth in India’s highly cost-sensitive market.
Oben Electric is rapidly expanding its footprint, aiming to establish over 100 showrooms across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities by the end of 2025. The launch of the O100 platform is expected to significantly increase sales volumes and profitability for Oben and its extensive dealer network, making it one of the most optimized electric two-wheeler distribution models in India.
Following the success of Oben’s ARX platform—which powered the premium Oben Rorr and Rorr EZ electric motorcycles with advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries and superior performance—the new O100 platform has been developed from the ground up to focus on utility, affordability, and reliability for mass-market electric motorcycles.
Motorcycles based on the O100 platform are slated for launch in the second half of 2025, promising to accelerate India’s electric two-wheeler adoption and support the government’s vision for a sustainable, electric future.
