Bengaluru- Ola Electric has officially started delivering its Roadster X motorcycles nationwide, marking the company’s bold entry into the electric motorcycle segment. The launch is part of Ola’s “Ride the Future” campaign, which offers the first 5,000 customers benefits worth ₹10,000, including free extended warranty, MoveOS+ software, and essential care services.
Designed, engineered, and built in India, the Roadster X series is aimed at a new generation of riders seeking cutting-edge electric mobility. Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, highlighted the Roadster X as a significant expansion beyond scooters, saying, “The Roadster X is designed for the generation that wants to ride the bike of the future.”
The Roadster X motorcycles incorporate several industry-first innovations to enhance performance and durability. A key feature is the mid-drive motor with an integrated motor control unit (MCU), which improves torque transfer and acceleration, delivering instant power and unmatched performance.
Another standout innovation is the use of flat cables, claimed to be an industry-first, which reduces weight and improves thermal performance. The motorcycles also come with electronic brake-by-wire technology, ensuring safer rides and longer range.
The bikes boast a futuristic and minimalistic design with an all-LED lighting setup — the first in its segment — combined with a 4.3-inch color LCD offering smart connectivity. Safety is enhanced by features like front disc brakes with ABS and an IP67-rated battery, making the motorcycles waterproof and dustproof.
Ola Electric has designed an innovative charger for the Roadster X that can be plugged into any 5A socket, offering convenience and portability. The charger is removable, allowing riders to access a 3-liter boot space for essentials. Additionally, the motorcycles come with cruise control to provide a more comfortable and effortless riding experience.
The Roadster X series is available in two main variants: the Roadster X+, which offers a range of 501 km, a top speed of 125 km/h, and a 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 2.7 seconds, and the Roadster X, which delivers a range of 252 km, a top speed of 118 km/h, and a 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds. Both variants come with front ABS, with the X+ featuring front disc brakes as well.
With these offerings, Ola Electric aims to revolutionize the electric two-wheeler market by providing high-performance, technologically advanced motorcycles designed for modern riders across India.
