      Hyderabad, Olectra Greentech Ltd., is pioneer in electric bus manufacturing and insulators has successfully delivered a fleet of 20 electric buses to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

      Chief Minister Eknath Shinde officially opened these air-conditioned, environmentally friendly, and pollutant-free automobiles at the Thane Depot on February 13, 2024.

      Prominent individuals attended the occasion, including Dr. Madhav Pusekar, Managing Director of MSRTC, Principal Secretary of the Transport Department Mr. Parag Jain, and Thane MLA Pratap Sarnaik.

      The first 20 Olectra e Buzz buses are part of a larger project, whereby Olectra would provide MSRTC with 5,150 electric buses in total.

      CM Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, said that, The state's transportation system, which is renowned for giving suburban and rural Maharashtra a lifeline, has greatly improved with the arrival of these buses. "MSRTC buses are the lifeline of Maharashtra, holding a cherished position in the hearts of rural commuters," the statement reads. Currently, 5,150 completely air-conditioned electric buses are scheduled to be added to the MSRTC fleet, guaranteeing eco-friendly and comfortable transport for customers.

      These 34-seater MSRTC electric buses are intended for use on the Borivali-Thane-Nashik route, with ticket prices that are similar to those of the Hirkani bus service that is currently in operation.

      Additionally, women and senior citizens are eligible for special savings with this service.

      • 50% off for women
      • 50% discount for senior citizens aged between 65 to 75 years
      • 100% discount for Amrut Senior Citizens aged above 75 years

      The Borivali-Thane-Nashik route, covering approximately 150 km, is anticipated to be completed in approximately 4 to 4.5 hours.
