Date: September 7, 2018Hyderabad – Olectra Greentech Ltd (formerly Goldstone Infratech Ltd) through its strategic tie-up with BYD Auto Industry of Shenzhen, China, has supplied five eBuzz K91 electric buses to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and which are now in commercial operation in Hyderabad International Airport. These buses form part of a contract for forty such electric buses with TSRTC. The state transport company is operating the buses on a gross cost contract2 basis.

The Department of Heavy Industry, under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles in India (FAME-I) scheme, has provided a subsidy of INR1 Crore (EUR120,000) for each bus to the Telangana State.
Olectra Greentech claims to have delivered 25 buses in Himachal Pradesh, six buses in Maharashtra (Mumbai) and five in Telangana.
N Naga Satyam, executive director, Olectra Greentech Ltd, said: “Olectra-BYD is doing its bit to reduce increasing pollution levels. We are delighted to now offer our state-of-the-art electric buses of international standard to the people of Telangana.”
1eBuzz K9 city bus is rated at 16t gvw and powered by in-wheel motors rated at 200KW and powered using BYD Goldstone FE-type Lithium ion phosphate batteries with short circuit protection, over temperature control function and lightning protection. The low floor chassis is 12m in length with a wheelbase of 6,100mm. It has electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) front and rear axles with a seating capacity of 39 and an optional provision for one wheelchair. It can be fully charged in 4 to 5 hours and has a range of up to 250km. It also has a regenerative braking system which enables the bus to recover a part of the kinetic energy lost in braking.
2A gross-cost contract- TSRTC(state transport) pays the operator on specified sum arrived based on well-defined services(transport of passengers on specified routes) for a specified period. All ticket fares been collected by the state transport and payment to service provider against specified value.
