Hyderabad- Olectra Greentech Limited., an electric mobility solutions in India, has reached a major milestone with a landmark order from Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) for 297 non-air-conditioned, 9-meter electric buses. This marks the first and largest outright purchase of electric buses by any state transport corporation in India.
Engineered specifically for the demanding hilly terrain of Himachal Pradesh, these electric buses feature a seating capacity of 30 passengers and offer a range of up to 180 kilometers on a single charge.
Valued at ₹424 crore (approximately USD 51.08 million), this order stands as one of the most significant state-level electric bus procurements under the outright purchase model. It also represents a significant push towards cleaner, greener, and more sustainable public transportation across the country.
