Hertfordshire, UK – OPICO Ltd., an agricultural machinery distributor, introduced a new version of its Simtech TJG300 direct drill at Groundswell, featuring a larger Stocks Ag steel hopper to improve productivity and reduce refill stops.
The 3m-wide drill was displayed publicly for the first time at the regenerative farming event. The new model is designed to support growers looking for efficient direct drilling across arable crops, grass seed, cover crops and Sustainable Farming Incentive mixes.
The TJG300 features spring-loaded opener discs and interchangeable feed block rollers for different seed types. With optional equipment, the drill can also handle higher seed rates for demanding applications.
A key feature of the Simtech range is its patented T-Slot seeding system. The opener disc and Z Tip coulter create an inverted T-slot that places seed in a protected zone, helping support germination while preserving soil structure.
Seed metering is managed through the Stocks Ag Turbo Jet system with touchscreen control. Variable-rate application and ISOBUS control are also available as options.
OPICO also displayed the TJG300 with a smaller hopper, showing the flexibility of the Simtech range for different farm sizes and crop requirements. The company also confirmed that genuine replacement parts for current and older Simtech machines are available through its MyOPICO online ordering platform.
The new TJG300 version is expected to appeal to growers seeking longer working intervals, reduced downtime and improved direct drilling efficiency.
