Paul Group Unveils Innovations at IAA Transportation 2024

Hanover / Vilshofen, Germany- At IAA Transportation 2024, the Paul Commercial Vehicles GmbH., will showcase their latest innovation, the PH2P truck now available as a 6x2 version. This new model features an additional self-steering axle, enabling a total weight of up to 22 tons and a payload of up to 13 tons without a trailer. Ideal for beverage logistics in urban areas, this update enhances manoeuvrability and handling. The truck retains the familiar specifications, including a Toyota 80kW fuel cell, Voith drive, 120kWh batteries, and a hydrogen system with a 300 km range.

Mr. Bernhard Wasner, Managing Director of the Paul Group, said, the range and H2 consumption of the medium-duty H2 truck have been validated with over 500,000 km of practical use, with even greater range possible depending on the route. The truck meets the needs of both interurban and inner-city transport, with feedback exceeding expectations. Diesel vehicles can be replaced one-to-one, with comparable refueling times and minimal changes for drivers. The compact 22-ton PH2P 6x2 is particularly popular in beverage logistics for its higher payload capacity.

Paul Commercial Vehicles’ new "Standalone Tank Mounting" for the Hyundai XCIENT FC allows the H2 tank system to be mounted behind the cab in any swap body vehicle registered in Germany. This design offers greater flexibility for superstructure choices and supports versatile use of swap bodies and Euro containers. Mr. Beat Hirschi, CEO Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility AG, said, "Our success in the sale of swap body vehicles is based on excellent cooperation with Paul Commercial Vehicles and their outstanding delivery quality. Precision and high reliability form the basis for the great trust in our partnership. I was particularly impressed by the fact that Paul's team always offers solutions at the highest level, even in challenging situations. I am delighted that we will be able to present the final product and other projects together at the IAA."

At IAA Transportation, Paul Commercial Vehicles will showcase its leadership with new projects, including a high-load van based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and a flexible construction vehicle from the Mercedes-Benz Arocs. They are also expanding their agricultural truck concept.

Bernhard Wasner will highlight Paul Group’s focus on hydrogen and future battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and the new Paul Academy, which provides essential training for handling high-voltage and hydrogen technologies.
