This engine meets the CARB Omnibus Regulation with redesigned internal hardware and an enhanced aftertreatment system to significantly reduce NOx emissions.
New CARB low NOx compliant PACCAR MX-13 engine for Models 579, 567, and 589. This engine meets the CARB Omnibus Regulation with redesigned internal hardware and an enhanced aftertreatment system to significantly reduce NOx emissions. The larger volume aftertreatment system includes an innovative compact twin assembly featuring a 48-volt generator in the flywheel housing and an electrical heater in the inlet. Upgrades include a larger volume mixer, longer SCR, and an improved NOx sensor for better efficiency and durability. Available in two ratings, it offers 510 HP with 1,850 lb.-ft. torque and 455 HP with 1,650 lb.-ft. torque, ensuring excellent drivability and fuel economy.
