Bontang, Indonesia — PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT)., a fertilizer producers, has introduced a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane to its fleet for the first time. The 230-tonne, 5-axle crane will support demanding lifting tasks in fertiliser production at PKT’s Bontang site, which houses five ammonia, five urea, and three NPK plants.

The LTM 1230-5.1 stands out for its single-engine concept, 75-metre telescopic boom, and compact dimensions, making it ideal for confined working areas and steep positions. Its VarioBase®Plus support system, combined with the LICCON intelligent control, optimises lifting capacities in real time, particularly in rear working areas.

Mr. Joko Susilo of PKT, said, “The LTM 1230-5.1 is the only crane that meets our specific requirements. It enables us to maintain and modernise our plants safely and efficiently. In addition to its performance, Liebherr’s service and reliability were key factors in our decision.”

The crane will primarily handle the lifting of plant components, supporting PKT’s commitment to high-quality production and global exports.
