Mumbai - Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre at the Government ITI College in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The centre has been set up by Mahindra Tractors, in collaboration with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS).

The initiative aims to equip rural youth with industry-relevant skills in the farm machinery and automotive sectors, enhancing employability and supporting rural economic growth.

The centre offers hands-on training under experienced instructors, providing students practical exposure to modern tractors and farm equipment. Graduates can pursue careers in manufacturing plants, sales and dealership networks, and after-sales service and maintenance. By combining classroom instruction with practical experience, the programme seeks to build a skilled workforce in Gadchiroli and surrounding regions.

Mr. Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “It’s an honour that the Prime Minister launched the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. Maharashtra plays a key role in India’s agricultural growth, and this partnership reflects our shared goal of nurturing rural talent and supporting economic development through skills.”

The project aligns with the vision of PM Modi and the Maharashtra Chief Minister to strengthen India’s skill ecosystem and create new employment opportunities for youth.
