Munich, Germany- Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC., unveiled its long-awaited Polestar 5, a pure performance grand tourer designed to show what grand touring can look and feel like in the electric era. Refined, powerful, and futuristic, the Polestar 5 embodies the brand’s ambition to be more than just another EV manufacturer it’s the company’s halo car, built on an in-house bonded aluminium platform that merges performance with sustainability.

Mr. Michael Manske, Head of Communications and Marketing at Polestar, said “Many premium German car brands are revisiting combustion technologies, but we remain focused on an all-electric future. Bringing our performance GT to their backyard felt like the right statement at the right time.”

The Polestar 5’s design draws heavily on aviation, with taut surfacing stretched across a wing-inspired silhouette. Rather than evolving traditional GT styling, the car represents a break from the past sleek, sculpted, and unapologetically modern.

Inside, the same philosophy continues. The minimalist cabin combines clean surfaces, innovative materials, and attention to detail, delivering both luxury and sustainability. Polestar’s decision to develop its own bonded aluminium platform reflects not innovation for its own sake but a deliberate rethink of weight, efficiency, and performance fundamentals. In essence, sustainability is not an add-on, but integrated into the very bones of the car.

To mark the launch, Polestar opened its Experience Lab in the heart of Munich. Far from a traditional auto show stand, the Lab blurred the line between installation and immersion. Visitors were invited to engage with the future through light, sound, and scent an atmosphere that contrasted sharply with the bustle of the motor show outside. At the centre of it all stood the Polestar 5, embodying the brand’s vision of tomorrow’s performance.
