Grieskirchen, Austria - POTTINGER Landtechnik GmbH., has introduced the latest generation of its Aerosem M mounted pneumatic seed drill, designed for precise seed placement, high emergence rates and flexible crop establishment.
The new Aerosem M is available with different hopper options, including a standard hopper with or without PCS (Precision Combi Seeding), and a double hopper with a pressurized hopper system. At the center of the machine is the optional IDS (Intelligent Distribution System), which controls each outlet through the bus system and enables flexible tramline and coulter pipe management.
The standard hopper offers a capacity of 1,250 liters, with an optional 600-liter extension. Its injector metering system ensures consistent seed distribution, even in challenging field conditions.
For maize sowing, the PCS version adds precision metering separator elements. It offers 450 liters of maize seed capacity and 800 liters for fertilizer as standard, with optional extensions increasing capacity to 650 liters for maize and 1,200 liters for fertilizer.
The double hopper version is divided 60:40 and uses separate metering units, allowing different seeds, fertilizer or companion crops to be placed together in the same seed slot. With a 2,000-liter capacity, it supports application rates of up to 520 kg/ha.
Pottinger has also modified the Dual Disc coulter system for improved precision planting. The coulters provide up to 60 kg of pressure, while a firming roller presses each seed into the slot. Optional harrow tines then cover the seed with soil.
The compact Aerosem M can be used with a power harrow or compact combination, offering high sowing accuracy, improved weight distribution and versatility across different soil and crop conditions.
